Well i had a week and a half rest after my last two close together runs as i couldn't really get one in on my time off.I went for a late night run at 9.20pm aiming for a minimum of 10k and a max of 20k even though the longest i had previously run was 16k.
I ended up doing 14.4k as my legs had nothing left to give, and i probably would of tripped over my sluggish feet and injured myself if i continued lol.
Happy with the run though,it was raining off and on so not the best conditions, and it was a decent distance for my experience level.
I did manage to run 11k without a stop, walk or a breather which was new for me,as i have usually had a little breather due to stitches etc at about 7 or 8k so an improvement was made at least.
So i am currently running at 2 thirds of my final target distance for the big day/main event in Sept so i am on target at least.
Going back to my Muay Thai classes next week as well,so i will have to closely monitor whether or not it affects my running.Fingers crossed it will help and not hinder my progress.

GNR 2012 training run week 3.
Did another training run tonight, although i was going to wait til sat as i ran the charity 10K only two days ago,but i felt like i was wasting an opportunity as i had been on 4 days off.
Started off going up the coast road/Marine Drive up to the plough roundabout which was quite knackering as i started off too fast and quickly started to struggle with my breathing.
I managed to settle down abit and after initially thinking i'm never going to make this,i started to feel confident that my legs and breathing might allow me to put in a decent effort.
I continued down to the Botanic Gardens and through Churchtown which marked the 10th Km of the run and headed back to town via Roe Lane.
Last week i managed to increase my run by a couple of Km so i wanted to at least do the same distance this time,so my target was 13Km,i could only go by time as a guide to how far i had run,and when the mix i was listening to finished i had an idea i'd done roughly 1hr 15min so far,so i kept running.
Once in town i decided to run upto the Promenade and back towards my starting point.I passed my starting point feeling better than i did when i actually started there!
By now my legs were borderline at the limit so i managed to run round Splashworld and to Rotten Row roundabout, and then onto Lord St.
I could of stopped there as i was almost home, but managed to run to the Monument, along London St and then down Chapel St and back home.
Still unaware as to how i'd actually done overall,i entered my running data into `Map My Run` and created the route map for my actual run,and was really chuffed to discover that i had managed 16.8Km which was 3.5Km more than my previous longest run last week :) it took 1hr 33min which gave me a pace of 5m31s per Km.
So my training progress is coming on and i am ahead on my target for an extra mile each month until i get to Aug,which will give me my distance required for the GNR 2012.

First charity 10K done.
Completed my first charity run yesterday. It was the Age UK Wrap up and Run 10K in Southport.
It was a good day, apart from the weather, but an experience never the less.
I raised roughly £150 excluding gift aid,so am happy to of contributed to a worthy cause.
I ran it with a female co runner for the day and it was her first attempt at a 10K run.she did well by completing it and didn't seem that puffed out,so i think it will be the first of many for her.She raised money for Age UK as well for the event, not sure how much.
So it is on to my full time preparation for The GNR as i'll call it from now on as its a lot shorter lol.
I am going to attempt to add a minimum of 1 mile per month to my distance in my weekly runs,i've added 1 mile per week for the last two weeks so am ahead of schedule,so need to work on my endurance so my legs will get me there.
My run will probably be on Saturday this week so ill post any progress,i'll probably go for a repeat of my longest run last week of 8.16miles/13k :)
